The exhibition brought together 50 talented calligraphers from around the world who will present a wide range of their works within the framework of this unique Islamic cultural art.
The event is held under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai and Chairman of the Executive Council.
Organised every two years, the exhibition celebrates calligraphy as one of the most powerful art forms for highlighting the brilliance of the written word and putting forth powerful ideas that are related to Islamic heritage, as well as the region’s cultural and social identity.
DIACE aims to shed light on the use of calligraphy in contemporary design and frame the art form in a modern context to enhance its appeal for today’s Islamic and Arab communities and artists. This ensures that calligraphy reaches the largest possible audience across various international cultures, while remaining true to its classical origins. The exhibition also includes workshops for all ages, where visitors and calligraphy enthusiasts can learn, first-hand, about different calligraphy styles and techniques.
